    Duplex stainless steels have become increasingly popular as they have the properties to meet a wide range of demands. 2020 marked the 90th Anniversary of the duplex branch of the stainless steel family tree and their introduction post-dated that of stainless steels by only some 17 years.
  2. STOCK: Sanmac 2205
    Sanmac 2205 is a variant of SAF 2205 but with much improved machinability and this offers productivity cost advantages for manufacturers. Sanmac 2205 also conforms to the Standards UNS S31803; S32205 and EN 1.4462 and its improved machinability is achieved without compromising properties such as corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

    Heat exchangers are a major application area for the duplex and super duplex stainless steels. The properties of these grades, most notably their strength, corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and co-efficient of thermal expansion make them valuable materials of construction at the heat transfer interface in heat exchangers which in turn are an essential part of many process plants.
